How to Install Cakewalk by Bandlab 01

(I am not affiliated with Bandlab in any way.)

Hi my name is Shawn, and I have been using Cakewalk since 2002. I was very disappointed when it was discontinued. I’ve been using Sonar for 9 years now so when I heard that Bandlab had acquired the license for it I was very interested. When I found out that they had released Sonar Platinum as Cakewalk by Bandlab and were giving it away free I got excited. I rushed over to Bandlab expecting to be disappointed but I wasn’t. Bandlab has released a fully functional pro quality DAW for free!

I immediately downloaded and installed it and after a very short learning curve for me, because I was already using a different version of Sonar, I was recording and mixing what I think are pro quality sounds. I am familiar with Pro Tools and I have nothing against it, if I had started with PT I would still be using it today but as long as there is something out there with this quality for free I will not be switching. Good enough… I can also use all the plug-ins that are licensed to my previous versions of cakewalk. Bonus!

I thought to myself, there are people out there new to Cakewalk that could use my help, so here it is.
